DevShield: Building with Security in Mind
ArchitectNow is partnering with SecureIdeas to host a workshop titled "DevShield: Building with Security in Mind" at the Microsoft Training Center in St. Louis. The event, which is free of charge, is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM and focuses on the integration of security practices within custom application development. It is designed for a broad audience, including developers, architects, managers, penetration testers, QA professionals, and security experts.
The workshop is divided into two main sessions. The first session, "Red Team – The Developer’s Perspective," focuses on modern application technologies, building a robust Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and identifying vulnerabilities during the development process. Participants will gain an understanding of the latest trends in app development and learn essential techniques to create a secure and efficient SDLC.
The second session, "Blue Team – The Defender’s Approach," emphasizes the fundamentals of application security, explores real-world attack scenarios, and discusses strategies to fortify applications against potential threats. This session is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to defend and mitigate risks throughout the application lifecycle.
The event concludes with an interactive Q&A and collaboration session, "Red vs. Blue: Cross-Team Insights," where development and security teams will share insights and strategies to improve coordination and focus on application security. The workshop aims to enhance participants' understanding of application security and foster better collaboration between various teams involved in the development process.
